EILEEN RAVELLA, PA-C
Eileen’s journey through medicine is nothing short of remarkable. Starting in rural family and emergency care, she spent 20 years as the sole provider in a small town of 2,000, where the nearest specialty care was two hours away. Her experience in rural medicine taught her resilience, resourcefulness, and the power of making a difference where it’s needed most. Eileen didn’t stop there—she became the county medical examiner and even served as mayor.

When she transitioned to the fast-paced life of an ER PA in a bigger city, she brought her compassion, grit, and wisdom, shaping patient care for another 20 years. Twice elected as president of WAPA, she’s a trusted leader and mentor. As a preceptor, she’s dedicated to teaching PA students the realities of medicine and the importance of doing right by their patients.

Now, she’s sharing her journey, hard-earned insights, and passion for patient care through her podcast. Whether you’re a healthcare professional or just curious about the life of someone who’s truly made a difference, Eileen’s story will inspire you to listen, learn, and take action. Tune in and discover what it means to create a lasting legacy in medicine.
JOSHUA LUMSDEN, PA-C
Joshua Lumsden, PA-C is not your average physician associate. Based in the vibrant Seattle area, Joshua brings a mix of expertise and personality to the world of internal medicine. As president of the Washington Academy of Physician Assistants, he’s as passionate about his profession as he is about advocating for better care. A 2016 graduate of the University of Washington, Joshua has dedicated his career to improving mental health services, LGBT care, and accessible preventive medicine.
Within his clinic system, he’s been a trailblazer, leading initiatives in suicide prevention, transgender health, and patient communication. His efforts earned him the prestigious Carol Verga Advanced Practitioner of the Year Award in 2021, solidifying his reputation as a leader and mentor to clinicians and clinic leadership alike.

Joshua’s voice doesn’t just stay within the walls of his clinic—he’s lectured nationally on topics like HIV treatment, gender-affirming care, and a variety of hot topics in healthcare. When he's not in scrubs, you might catch him tackling amateur rugby, competing in bodybuilding, or showing off his multilingual talents. And as the most tattooed physician associate out there, he’s not afraid to break the mold. Oh, and his sidekick? A mischievous geriatric chihuahua who’s notorious for early-morning bread theft.
